Engineered for the Circuit

The 2026 Toyota GRMN Corolla elevates the already potent GR model into a specialized track machine. By integrating feedback from Japan's Super Taikyu racing series, Toyota has refined this vehicle to prioritize durability and raw performance on demanding circuits.

Aerodynamic and Weight Enhancements

The exterior of the GRMN variant is distinguished by a variety of performance-oriented upgrades. Key changes include a carbon fiber hood featuring a new horizontal air duct and carbon fiber front fenders designed with specific vents to optimize airflow from the wheel wells. Furthermore, the rear wing, also constructed from carbon fiber, allows for five degrees of manual adjustment, enabling drivers to fine-tune downforce.

To shave off 66 pounds of mass, the engineers removed the rear seats. The vehicle also comes factory-equipped with high-performance Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, ensuring maximum mechanical grip.

Refined Handling and Powertrain

The suspension system has undergone a complete transformation, utilizing new monotube dampers with specialized rebound springs and bump stops capable of handling the harsh surfaces of tracks like the Nürburgring. Additionally, Toyota has recalibrated the all-wheel-drive system and electric power steering to enhance corner-entry stability and linear torque distribution.

While the turbocharged three-cylinder engine remains, it has been optimized to produce 302 lb-ft of torque—an increase from the standard 295 lb-ft. This power gain is specifically tuned between 4,000 and 4,600 rpm to improve acceleration during corner exits. As noted by the manufacturer, some of these technical refinements originate from the hydrogen-combustion GR Corolla race car project. To combat heat soak during intensive track sessions, the model includes a dedicated intercooler spray system.

Interior Appointments

Inside the cabin, the GRMN features unique sport seats finished in a premium black and red suede-like material. The interior environment is designed to be distraction-free, with brushed metal accents on the dashboard and A-pillar to minimize glare. The experience is further personalized with carbon fiber trim, red detailing, and the signature 'Morizo' logo.

Market Availability

Production of the 2026 Toyota GRMN Corolla will take place in Japan, with confirmed availability for the Japanese, Australian, and North American markets. While Toyota has yet to release final pricing or specific production figures, it is widely expected that the vehicle will be released in limited quantities.
