A New Breed of Raging Bull

Throughout automotive history, performance engineers have constantly sought to achieve more with less. Lamborghini, however, has traditionally adhered to a philosophy of achieving more by adding more—favoring massive vehicles with imposing wings, propelled by iconic, large-displacement V12 engines.

The Revuelto exemplifies this lineage. When it debuted, its 1,001-horsepower powertrain captivated the industry, utilizing three electric motors to provide not only a massive surge in power but also exceptional agility through an advanced front-axle torque-vectoring system.

Now, the lineup grows with the introduction of the Revuelto SV. While it does offer a bump in power, the true headline is how the car manages that performance. Through a larger battery, a sophisticated hybrid architecture, and cutting-edge sensor-fusion technology, the new 1,050-horsepower model manages to be both incredibly potent and surprisingly approachable.

Enhanced Hybrid Performance

The core of the powertrain remains familiar, but with significant upgrades. The internal combustion engine works in tandem with three electric motors. One motor, integrated with the gas engine, serves as a dual-purpose unit: it assists the rear wheels and acts as a regenerative traction control system. If the rear tires begin to slip, the system instantly increases regenerative braking to mitigate wheelspin while simultaneously recharging the battery.

Two additional electric motors are mounted on the front axle, one per wheel. This configuration provides the Revuelto with all-wheel drive and the capability to manipulate each wheel's speed individually, allowing the 3,907-pound machine to maneuver with remarkable dexterity.

Advanced Battery and Sensing Capabilities

To extract more performance, Lamborghini upgraded the electrical architecture. The 2027 Revuelto SV utilizes a 7.3-kWh battery pack, a significant jump from the original’s 3.8-kWh unit. By employing cylindrical cells similar to those found in high-performance EVs, the engineers increased both total capacity and maximum charge/discharge rates.

This allows for more sustained acceleration and more effective energy recovery during braking. Complementing this hardware is a new sensor-fusion system. Drawing inspiration from the Urus SE Performante, the SV integrates stability control, traction control, and anti-lock brakes into a centralized brain that monitors the vehicle's dynamics through a six-dimensional sensor tracking movement across X, Y, and Z axes.

The Pilota Mode

To fully harness these technical improvements, the SV introduces the new "Pilota" drive mode. Positioned above the previous top-tier "Corsa" setting, Pilota is designed strictly for track environments and offers five distinct levels of intervention. It provides drivers with a graduated system to scale the car's intensity, ranging from safe, stable settings for slick conditions to fully unlocked performance modes for experienced pilots.

Weight Reduction and Mechanical Upgrades

Despite the larger battery, the Revuelto SV is actually 17 pounds lighter than the base model, thanks to an extensive use of carbon fiber in components like the bucket seats and the fixed rear wing. Other key improvements include:

  • Braking: New Brembo CCM-R Plus brakes offer 23% better cooling and 11% stronger deceleration.
  • Tires: Bridgestone Potenza Race Rs provide track-focused grip while remaining street-legal.
  • Suspension: The car features race-spec, four-way adjustable dampers that allow for high-precision fine-tuning, though adjustments must be made manually.

On-Track Verdict

Testing the Revuelto SV at the Vallelunga circuit revealed a machine that is unexpectedly playful. While the power increase is certainly felt, the standout feature is the synergy between the refined suspension and the advanced traction software.

«The 2027 Lamborghini Revuelto SV is an addictive mix of electrified urgency and internal combustion power, paired with a next-gen stability control system so advanced you can barely feel it.»

The car excels at hiding its mass, providing a level of engagement that is rare for such high-horsepower vehicles. Starting at $741,172, the Revuelto SV is a testament to how modern technology can make extreme performance not just faster, but genuinely more enjoyable to drive.
