Ferrari’s four-door SUV, the Purosangue, is no stain on the Maranello sports car marque, but the company’s engineers knew there was more to squeeze out of it. Additional performance now comes for 2027 Purosangue models thanks to the new Handling Speciale configuration that puts improved driving dynamics and more feeling into this unique machine from the Prancing Horse.
The great news for people who buy the Purosangue Handling Speciale is that the upgrades allegedly don’t take away from the super SUV’s daily drivability. That’s because all the changes are done through a new tune of its vehicle dynamics systems to make it handle better, sound more exciting, and feel more connected to the driver.
Specifically, the “Handling” part of this new configuration comes with an improved calibration of the MotorTrend Best Tech-awarded active suspension system. Ferrari says it reduces body movements by 10 percent and helps make the Purosangue react predictably to what the driver demands from it. Ferrari said it also made sure the new suspension tune gives drivers more feedback and a better sensation of control during spirited driving.
Gear changes are also improved to reduce shift times and make gear changes “more decisive” in Race and ESC-Off modes. Gear changes in manual mode feel more direct at engine speeds above 5,500 rpm, Ferrari said. Additionally, the sound inside the cabin is tuned to bring out the character of the naturally aspirated V-12 engine during start-up and acceleration.
Of course, you can’t have such changes and still have your 2027 Ferrari Purosangue look the same as a standard version. That’s why the new Handling Speciale will also have exclusive elements like unique wheels with a new diamond-cut finish, carbon-fiber side shields, and matte black exhaust tips. Further, the rear Prancing Horse emblem is finished in black, and the “Ferrari” script is silver satin-finished. Inside, there is a dedicated plaque that identifies this improved Purosangue as the Handling Speciale.
The 2027 Ferrari Purosangue Handling Speciale is available to order now, but Ferrari will announce official pricing and availability later in 2026. Left-hand-drive European markets should expect their 2027 Purosangue Handling Speciales to arrive by Q3 2026. We expect the starting price to be between $550,000–$600,000 when it arrives in the U.S. later this year as well.
