Precision Engineering: How Digital Matrix Works
The core of this technology lies in its granular control of light. The Q9's headlight units contain 25,600 micro-LEDs each, organized into tiny, half-inch modules. This allows for unprecedented precision in light distribution.
The system integrates with front-facing cameras to monitor the road environment in real time. Unlike traditional high-beam assist, which simply toggles between high and low settings, Digital Matrix technology functions dynamically:
- Individual Dimming: Each micro-LED can be controlled independently.
- Adaptive Shadows: As an oncoming vehicle approaches, the system dims specific LEDs to create a "shadow" around the other car while keeping the rest of the road brightly illuminated.
- Continuous Adjustment: The light pattern shifts fluidly as the oncoming vehicle changes position, ensuring the other driver is never blinded.
