ZXMoto, a motorcycle manufacturer founded by industry veteran Zhang Xue—also the mastermind behind the successful Kove brand—is making waves in the global supersport market. The company has officially released the specifications for its latest production model, the 820RR-R, which has already begun arriving at dealerships in China.

While many motorcycles debut in the Chinese market without international fanfare, the 820RR-R is different. Its underlying platform has proven its pedigree on the global stage, having powered Valentin Debise to six WorldSSP victories and a strong standing in the championship rankings.


Performance and Powertrain

Positioned as the mid-tier offering between the entry-level 820RR and the top-spec 820RR-SP, the 820RR-R boasts credentials that challenge flagship models from more established manufacturers. At its heart lies an 819cc three-cylinder engine equipped with titanium valves and an optimized compression ratio. These mechanical enhancements result in an impressive output of 145 horsepower at 13,500 rpm and approximately 61 lb-ft of torque at 10,000 rpm. With a curb weight of just 410 lbs, the machine offers a power-to-weight ratio that sets a new benchmark in its category.

ZXMoto has spared no expense regarding hardware, outfitting the motorcycle with premium components designed for track dominance:

  • Braking System: Equipped with dual 330 mm discs, Brembo M50 calipers, and a Brembo master cylinder for precise stopping power.
  • Handling: Features fully adjustable KYB suspension front and rear, complete with diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating on the fork internals.
  • Chassis: Built around a sophisticated aluminum perimeter frame that allows for extensive track-focused adjustments, including rake, ride height, swingarm pivot, and rearset positioning.
  • Rolling Stock: The bike arrives fitted with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa V4 tires wrapped around lightweight forged wheels.
